Just a disclaimer; I appreciate that there's no realistic change of changes like this happening... the respective tennis associations are too wedded to their own interests etc, or else this wouldn't be an issue in the first place. That said... Seeing the debacle of France's wildcard selection for the Australian Open – no disrespect to Ponchet, but no-one should be getting a main draw wildcard from outside the qualifying cut-off (injury etc notwithstanding), let alone from 270th – and of Tennis Australia's qualifying wildcards (Tomić from 465th etc) got me thinking... what would be a better/fairer system? After a bit of pondering, I came up with this... I'm just interested to see what people think. It wouldn't make any huge changes; just tweaks which I feel would improve main and qualifying draws at grand slams (as well as playing full qualifying draws at all four slams).
I didn't find the right solution from the internet.
